27. 04. 2010., 19:30 MISHA DICHTER, pianoJ. Brahms, L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert, B. Bartók, F. Liszt Born in 1945 in Shanghai, where his parents lived after escaping Poland during World War II, Misha Dichter's family soon moved to Los Angeles where Misha received first piano lessons at the age of six. Owing to his teachers, his expression unifies two great piano traditions of the previous century: the Russian romantic school and the German classical style. These were exactly the characteristics that distinguished his performance at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow where he achieved extraordinary success as a twenty-year-old student of Juilliard. This event gave a strong stimulus to his international career. As soon as 1968, Misha debuted with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Leonard Bernstein, and then went on to perform with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, and all major American orchestras. He also recorded a number of very well received albums. |
